Natural Aquamarine Earrings
One of a kind natural aquamarine and sterling silver earrings. Aquamarine cabochons are 9 x 11 mm oval shapes with gallery wire bezels dropped from octagon hammered wire forms with French ear wires. Earrings measure 1 inch wide by 1-7/8 inches long. Cabochons sourced through Nikmak Crystals. Aquamarine is said to promote the release of anger and reduce stress and assist in self-healing.

I began my jewelry-making journey in 2009 after retirement and to fulfill a need to channel my creativity. I started with learning the basics of wire work and chain maille – always striving to acquire new techniques through books and online videos. But after taking one beginner silversmithing course five years ago, I realized I had found a new direction of working with silver. At the same time, I learned the art of lapidary where my love of natural gemstones and rocks has become an obsession. The ability to cut and polish cabochons into varying shapes also gives me a tremendous amount of flexibility in designing each piece of jewelry.
I was recently told that my work “is very unique and could become an heirloom that a mother or daughter would want to pass on to future generations”. That statement was an extraordinary compliment, but it was also an affirmation that the uniqueness and longevity of my designs has been my primary focus since becoming a silversmith and lapidary artist.
I work out of my home studio in Harrowsmith, ON and each of my pieces is hallmarked with my signature stamp and, when I have the opportunity, I love to teach beginners the basics of silversmithing and chain maille.
