This mostly acrylic painting is 34”X58”. It is on canvas with a 1 1/2” painted profile, ready to hang. The ponies are inspired by the Lascaux cave drawings in France. The airy colours and abstract movement of the pigments are all drawn toward the sun which is created in 3D with various minerals.
Ivan Trotter has had a long and varied career as a Canadian artist. These new art assemblages are his latest works, combining his all his artistic skills and interests.
For many years Ivan painted the Canadian landscape in 'Group of Seven' inspired oils. A love of France and her Mediterranean neighbours has in the past decade, turned his palette to vivid acrylics, better enabling him to capture and record his passion for Provencal and Tuscan villages.
