Decayed Cedar- I was inspired to do this piece because of all the various textures of this decaying cedar. Contour & wavy line work was used to show various depths/shapes of the decaying trunk of the tree. Heavy ink strokes were used to show more depth, splits and shadows around various knots in the trunk. To help ground this piece I used crisscross pen strokes representing pine needles, sketched leaves, small plants and rocks on the forest floor.
