Two Native Art
Acrylic on canvas paintings and prints. Authentic native crafts. I am a member of Mi’kmaq First Nation artist from the Potlotek First Nation, Nova Scotia, Canada and, as well, I am of Mohawk (Haudenosaunee) descent. I am presently living in
Ontario, Canada. I am a self-taught artist whose medium is acrylic on canvas. I also enjoy creating various authentic First Nation arts and crafts. My art style is a combination of Mi’kmaq art (petroglyphs, pictographs) and Woodlands art. Petroglyphs and Pictographs represent two distinct methods for producing rock art. The petroglyphs are carved or chipped into exposed rock surface and pictographs are painted onto rock surfaces. Woodlands art is a style of Native Art from around the Great Lakes area, including Northern Ontario and Northwestern Manitoba. I have incorporated these styles of art to create a unique and authentic style.
I have a NEW painting that I have completed. It was done with acrylic and was done on canvas. I have prints from all of my other original paintings available upon request.
I have a colouring book that has been produced with all of my original paintings. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of my colouring book goes to the Gord Downie and Chenie Wenjack fund.
